A public health researcher and ethicist by training, Professor Sean Philpott-Jones holds advanced degrees in microbiology, medical anthropology and bioethics. He is Chair of the Department of Bioethics at Clarkson University’s Capital Region Campus, where he is Director of the Bioethics Program of Clarkson University-Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai. He is also Project Director of Clarkson’s two Fogarty-funded projects to provide research ethics education in low- and middle-income countries: the Advanced Certificate Program in Research Ethics for Central and Eastern Europe and the Caribbean Research Ethics Education Initiative.
